Downers Ave 2009
One of the most popular and historic road races in the American season is this weekend. The Downer Classic, part of the Tour of America's Dairyland, will take place in Milwaukee, WI, this Saturday, June 27th. It's going to be pretty crazy, so get there early. All the details are here, and keep an eye out for the Ben's Cycle Ultra Prime competition during the race.

VeloCity Chicago/Milwaukee 2009 Photos
Thanks to Gavin Gould and Andrew Nordyke (with his late 1960's Polaroid 250 Landcamera) for these pics of the action at VeloCity 2009 at Kenosha. Seems like the Chicago Cuttin' Crew put on a great day. Props to Squid (the man, the legend) at Cyclehawk for starting the whole deal, and to all the sponsors who contributed prizes.
Non-messenger scratch race, with Team Pegasus well represented. Sad to see, however, that Frank doesn't race in deck shoes anymore. Photo by Gavin Gould.

Kenosha Flooded!
This pic was taken by my esteemed Team Pegasus teammate Jon Raleigh when he and some people went to Kenosha to put in a bit of training time on the track. It turns out that recent rains had caused something or other to overflow, flooding the infield with sewage. Yes, sewage. More photos here.
Velodrome Infographic
Found this infographic about the banking at Stone Mountain Park velodrome on the Flip Flip Flyball site.

Casual Panniers
These are what your well dressed football hooligan might have had on his bike in 1999, had he cycled a bike. Which he didn't. Nevertheless, if you'd like to look like a late '90s casual biking along to meet the firm before a bit of pre-match argy bargy with the headhunters, then check out these panniers from Gruppo Bici N.A. here.

Munich Super Sprints
Just got an email from Kevin in Munich, Germany, letting me know about some sprints happening there this weekend. This will be the first night of a sprints series, with the second night happening sometime in the next two weeks. Straight line drag-race style sprints are always great, so if you're in Bavaria then get yourself to Munich. If the racing is as good as the flyer, it'll be a blast (plus, lots of prizes, including caps from the always awesome Cognition.) Details here.
Seattle Events
Man, what is in the water in Seattle?? There are always events planned and cool shit happening. If you're in the area this month, check these out.

Here are some great photos, by Ed White and Gavin Gould, of the early season racing at Ed Rudolph Velodrome in Northbrook, IL. It sounds like the season is going well, with lots of strong racing and some standout performances. I can't wait to get back to the track!
