Chicago CMWC Fundraisers!

The first crop of fundraisers for the Chicago CMWC in 2012 are happening soon!

CMWC 2012

Look at all these happy Chicago faces. It must be because the Cycle Messenger World Championships are going to be in Chicago in 2012!

[edit] I got the year wrong. It's Chicago 2012. Thanks for the heads-up!

CMWC Guatemala

Speaking of Latin American, it looks like everyone had a great time in Guatemala for the CMWC 2010. Velo News has some coverage, as does Moving Target and the Cuttin' Crew (pictured above). I know La Ocho was washed away, but does anyone have a photo of people racing it before the deluge?

Chicago Bids for the 2011 CMWC

So this year it's in Tokyo (this week, in fact) and next year it's in Guatemala, but the venue for the following year isn't set yet, so Chicago is throwing its hat into the ring in a bid to host the 2011 Cycle Messenger World Championships. The NACCCs last year were a huge success, so you know Chicago can handle it. Check out all the details of the bid here.

Send Nico and Christina to the CMWCs

Because the Boston NACCCs didn't charge an entry fee, they couldn't afford to buy tickets for the winners to attend the CMWCs. So, some people in Chicago are trying to raise money to send the NACCC winners, Nico and Christina, to Guatemala for the 2010 CMWCs. Get all the details and donate some cash here.

CMWC 2009 Tokyo

Dispatch101 reminded me:

Cycle Messenger World Championships 2009, Tokyo. Details will eventually be here. Hmm... I might actually make it to this...

Ballan's World Champion Wilier

I didn't want to start the weekend on a downer, so following that Wiggins' article I though I better post some bike porn, sharpish! I like Alessandro Ballan, and I love Wilier, so I was pretty excited to see this World Champion edition Wilier Cento built specially for Bettini's successor. Sweet.

CMWC 2008

Best of luck to all the Chicago messengers who are in Toronto right now to compete in the Cycle Messenger World Championships 2008. We're expecting great things from them, especially from the Chicago Cuttin' Crew, who are rolling deep, and traveled up there in the latest addition to the squad, the Cuttin' Cruiser.
