Zabel's Colnago

Photo by Ben Atkins for BikeRadar.

Erik Zabel's one-off Colnago Extreme Power Super has to be the nicest bike in the Tour peleton this year. Full carbon lugged frame, with oversized but gracefully tapered tubes, brand new Dura Ace 7900 group and a beautiful retro paintjob. Plus, it has a level top-tube (sloping top-tubes being unbearably ugly in my opinion). This is a cutting-edge modern frame with the elegance and style of a vintage racer. Beautiful. As seen on BikeRadar.

i love that it's just sitting out by a garage door. couldn't find a graf-covered brick wall?

The top tube is straight. Get that shit outta here. Sloping top tubes are the only acceptable design from here on out.

Seriously, awesome.

Lets hope he can push it to some stage wins. Cavendish has some pretty amazing legs right now. How many grand tours does the old mensch have in him?

even zabel's bike gets its mug shot taken in front of a white garage door. he must have taken the photos for velospace.

Kevin: I think it's the hottest colnago around right now. Certainly the best paintjob in forever. Oh, and by the way, you look like Will Frischkorn. Check the Pro Cycling thread on chifg for verification.

Ben: I think Zabel will grab one stage win. Maybe. This is his last Tour, apparently.

Gavin & anon: the pics were taken in the suburbs for the "post yo' ride" thread on BFSSFG. It's the "before conversion" shot.

personally, non-sloping top tubes these days are to die for, sloping top tubes however make me want to die.
