Northbrook Committee Meeting






















Northbrook Cycling Committee, the group that manages the Ed Rudolph velodrome, will have its next meeting this Thursday, April 16th at the Village Green in Northbrook, at 7:00 pm. Everyone interested in track racing in Chicago should try to attend.

Also, the first night of racing at Northbrook is a little over a month away with Opening Night happening on May 14th. Check out the Northbrook page for more details.

I sure hope they enforce how cool it is to ride in knickers without a helmet! Because that what board members should do - lead by horrid example

There have been some great successes with these meetings over the winter.

Juniors will be racing for free on Thursday nights thanks to committee decisions and the incredible generosity of long time supporter E.J.'s Place. Its a restaurant in Skokie that has always helped host banquets, sponsor cyclocross and supports track racing with money in a recession (big props).

Thanks to Val and her efforts to getting the women's program to grow, Blue cycles has promised a frameset to one lucky female participant, given away at a drawing at the end of the year.

While it wasn't so much a product of the committee's work, the Allvoi cup hosted by WDT looks like a great series for the NB velodrome too.

So, so many plugs, so little time...
