Hoy Dominates Keirin

Now that's a victory. Chris Hoy crossing the line well ahead of the other riders in the keirin final, claiming his second gold medal of this olympics. Fellow Scot Ross Edgar claimed the silver. So far, every single British cyclist to start a track final in Beijing has won a medal, and there's a lot more to come. Amazing. CARL DE SOUZA/AFP/Getty Images

It was a great race. The UK *decided* to be great on the track, and they are. If Ireland invested in a small number of sports the way the UK have in cycling we'd be well ahead of where we are now. Pity really. Well done to the GBR team.

a thrilling ride to watch. so dominating. i've never ridden a keirin, but i was surprised to see hoy move into the first spot so early. i'm wondering if it was planned to have edgar block for him?

hoy got a great pull from the japanese rider and then just took off.

In the Keirin I rode last week it was definitely favourable to be as close to the front as possible, unless.. you plan to take a mad flyer from the back passing everyone just as the bike comes off but then you better be bloody strong over a tonne.

Hoy is a beast, hands down the best rider the world has seen. Coming from an Aussie(I was hoping Kelly could pull something out for 2nd) I knew he would smash the field to pieces like this. The same thing happened when I saw Hoy race over here, at least 10 bike lengths in front of a class field from riding off the front.

Seriously disappointed with the amount of footage we are getting though, as soon as an Aussie is out of medal contention it cuts to some obscure horse jumping/field hockey bullshit.

Cheers,
Jack
