The third annual Sadie Hawkins Day Race will be happening in Chicago on November 8th!
The two previous editions of the race were among the biggest alleycats ever held in Chicago. Over 200 racers participated each year, with people coming from all over the US to race. I didn't make it to the race last year, but the first year was a blast, as was the afterparty, and this year promises to be the best yet. Teams of two, with the idea being that a female racer invites a partner (hence Sadie Hakwins), who can be either male or female. There can be teams of two guys also, but they have to pay a lot more to register. So, basically, stop being so androcentric, get a team together, come to Chicago, and race! If you can't put a team together before hand, the organizers will even try (no promises) to find you a partner.
Early registration starts TODAY. If you register early, you pay the same registration fee as people who register on the day of the race, but you get the manifest two weeks ahead of time. That'll give you a decent advantage over all the laggards who roll up to register on the day of, so register soon. Early registration ends on 19th Oct. Go to the Sadie homepage to register, and to check out all the details and the amazing prizes (which include a custom frame with a custom paintjob). Go HERE.
