I posted a few days ago about some shots I saw on TrackosaurusRex of a bloke in what looked like the rumoured tweed version of the Rapha softshell jacket. Well, I just got these pics from Rapha:
Nice! Apparently, the Tweed Softshell is the highlight of their Autumn/Winter 08 season, and there are only going to be 100 of them. The jacket features a pure wool outer layer with a Prince of Wales check, providing a windproof, water resistant jacket, perfect for riding around town and going to the pub. It'll be pricey, mind, around $750, and will only be available from their website.

the saving grace about this jacket: it will be easy to identify the idiots so eager to part with a ridiculous sum of money for a piece of cloth with a pretentious label on it.
ha ha! anonymous!
but seriously, i don't think Chicago is ready for this sort of bike fashion. pps like anonymous revile the stuff
isn't this like the HED3 worth more than the bike it's on?
now we got a jacket (that almost costs the same as hed3) costing more than the bike.
something tells me that Rapha's actual target audience isn't hipsters with Pake's
I think a $750 jacket deserves to be described as more than "pricey". Is all their stuff made in China?
I really like their designs, but who would ride around in something that costs as much as a decent entry/mid level bike?
Duppy: how about spendy?
I think the only way to find out if this jacket is worth $750 is for Rapha to send you one that will tested and reviewed on HipsterNascar.com, the world's leading resource on all things track bike (and anthropology).
Don't you think Simon?
Jessi, I agree strongly. Rapha, get on it!
Have'em mail us one as well! Its starting to get cold in Atlanta!
british pounds have just gone to shit.
I hope this comes out before the US currency drops as well.
It's like a 20 percent discount.
gotta love it.
That rapha base jacket is the best out there. And this is a great spin on it... Too expensive? Tough if it is for you, there's plenty of non-bike reated jackets that are way, way more expensive that this one! Ha. 1G is not unusual for a jacket.
