Cadel

Call me petty, but on the day when the biggest scumbag in cycling history, Floyd Landis, finally admits to systematic doping, confirming that he's been lying for the last fours years and all through the court cases and in his own book, and I still dislike Cadel "Handbags" Evans more. Twat!

Amazing picture of Evans by the great Graham Watson, seen over on Cycling Weekly and brought to my attention by EvanGBX on the other Chicago forum.

Evans is a total bore. I see he has rainbow stripes but I really don't remember seeing him win them. I saw him on the podium a few times but I don't remember seeing him in the race.

I'm not sure how he does it. He has a pretty good resume but he's never excited me at all. I'd rather watch a fight for 20th than a guy coasting to the bridesmaid position.

Give me a rider like Voeckler any day. Remember when he won the yellow jersey on a breakaway that one time? Then fought harder than anyone to keep it? Remember when every day someone would say "the big guys will take the jersey today. No way Voeckler will hang on.: Then he did. That guy rules.

Oh yeah...Landis is a total shitbag.

If Cadel was an American, you guys would be ok with him. World champ and TDF podium finishes are fine by the rest of us.
Oh yeah... how many jerseys and stage wins have the Aussies had in the Giro so far? Hmm....!~

Bollox, mate, pure bollox. I dislike Cadel Evans because of the way he rides his bike, and because of the way he conducts himself during and after races. It has nothing to do with where he's from.

Actually, it sounds like you might be the one who cares where he's from, seeing as I've never once raised the issue of his nationality, and would never do so to justify or explain my dislike of him, so I'll flip your accusation of chauvinism back at you: would you honestly like Evans if he wasn't Australian?

Yes, Australian riders, like Richie Porte and Michael Rogers, are killing it right now. That's great! The Aussie track team has had a really excellent comeback season recently too, something I've already written about here. Maybe you should read the blog a bit more before you get all defensive and nationalistic?

Sorry buddy, I dislike Cadel because he's got one of the ugliest riding styles in history, he tends to wheelsucking, he whines and complains when things don't go his way. He could win every race out there and it still wouldn't change that.

By the way, I'm not American.
