Sastre in Space

Here's Carlos Sastre doing some anti-grav training with NASA in the space shuttle or something. The photo is by Jay Prasuhn and is from VeloNews.

Thanks to Matt from GrannyGear for the heads-up.

Cervélo TestTeam

From the Castelli kits to the Catlike helmets, the Cervélo TestTeam are definitely going to be one of the more stylish teams in the peleton next year. Picture above are Norweigian sprint beast Thor Hushovd and Irishman (yay!) Philip Deignan. Photo by Shane Stokes, seen over on Prendas.

Eurobike Bike Porn

Theo Bos' crazy Koga-Miyata KIMERA. This bike is supposed to cost, like, $3,000,000 and can go into space, or something. Actually, I'm not sure that's right, but either way, it's impressive. It's a bit of a pity Theo didn't make better use of it at the Olympics, though. He's still a freaking badass, don't get me wrong, but it just did not happen for him on the boards this year. Photo from Eurobike by Bill Le Fromagier.

Yes! Finally! A picture of Joan Llaneras' Olympic gold medal winning Cervélo P3C Track! I've been trying to get a clear photo of this bike since the Olympics, but no dice, till now. I love the paintjob. Unlike Bos' custom made monster, Llaneras P3C is built around the a standard P3C frame, but with a different fork and a custom paintjob reflecting Llaneras' status as a world champion and olympic gold medalist. I love it. Photo from Eurobike by Bill Le Fromagier.

Last and very, very definitely least, the brand new Fuji Track Pro. It may not be anywhere near the bike of the other two, but it looks pretty good. That smaller rear triangle still annoys me, but on the whole this looks like a pretty solid entry into the mid-level track bike bracket. I wonder how long it'll take Fuji to shift all those old Track Pros they rebranded as Comps? My advice, paint 'em all celeste. Photo from Eurobike by Bill Le Fromagier.

Thanks to Bill for the use of his photos! I know Eurobike was a while ago, but I've been holding onto these for just the right time to post them. I think this is a good post to start the weekend on, don't you? So, go ride your bikes!

Olympic Bike Porn

Cervélo S3. Styling. Cervélo produced a P3C Track with the same paint job for the Danish track team, but I haven't been able to find pictures of it online. I'm also looking for a good picture of Joan Llaneras P3C, but I can't find that either. Basically, I'm rubbish. More details on the S3 here.
