Condor World Champ Series

Venerable UK frame company Condor Cycles have come up with a cool way to celebrate the 80th birthday of its founder, Monty Young. They are releasing a limited edition run of vintage style, lugged steel, World Champ stripe themed frames. In total, only 150 framesets will produced, in road or track versions, and each comes with a World Champ edition Selle San Marco Concor and matching bar tape. Nice.

Pegoretti at Interbike 2009

Dario Pegoretti's work never ceases to amaze me:

Great paint- birds on a wire

These chainstays we're bigger than most downtubes

Everybody's doin' it...

Pinarello is also jumping into the mid-range market:

While they no doubt look great, I still feel a little uneasy by seeing all these classic Italian brands making Taiwanese aluminum track bikes...

Now that's more like it!

Hipster Nascar goes to Interbike

Yes, that's right, while the rest of the bike blog world is partying in Japan, we decided to go in a different direction. Aaron will be in Vegas this week, reporting from Interbike on all the newest trends in recumbent, hybrid, and beach cruiser bikes. Can't wait! Seriously though, I think we're going to be one of the few street/track bike blogs attending, so keep checking back for regular posts from the show, and follow Aaron's Interbike adventures on twitter.

Go on ya good thing!

Irishman Philip Deignan of the Cervélo Test Team won the 18th stage at the Vuelta a España today, a 165km ride from Talavera de la Reina to Avila. He becomes the first Irishman to win a stage at a major tour since Stephen Roche's stage win at the 1992 Tour de France. Along with Nicolas Roche's (Stephen's son) good overall ride at the Tour, it's been a good year for Irish pros.

Best. Bike. Website. Ever.

You know that scene at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, when the ark is being put into storage in that massive OSS warehouse? Well, the Embacher Collection is that, but for bikes, and in Austria. It's an amazing collection of over 200 historic bikes and components, and you can check it and the bikes out here.

Team Z Jersey!!

Feckin' deadly! No need to drop fifty quid on eBay to get a smelly Team Z jersey some oul' lad had at the bottom of his kit bag for the last 15 years. Get a brand new one from Prendas instead! The iconic jersey in which Greg Lemond won the 1990 Tour will be available soon in a reproduction edition. Plus, they're making Team Z cycling caps too. Keep an eye on Prendas for details.

Colnago USA

Colnago have decided to cut out the middle man, and are opening a direct distribution center in the USA for the first time ever. This should mean more shops carrying Colnago, at lower prices. Plus, guess where their warehouse and office will be? Chicago. That's correct. Check out the new website here.
